enamel pin TERMS OF SERVICE

Please read these terms of service before considering a purchase.

By commissioning an order to be made by me, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions:

The Commission Process

To begin the commission process, you must fill out a commission form with your details and information about the project. On this, you must attach a clear, unshaded reference sheet.

You will receive a message with a quote (or price) for your commission. Please respond to this as soon as you can!

I will send you an invoice for your commission - I use Stripe payment link or invoice, so you will be able to pay by card. You have 48 hours to pay this.

Communications will take place, preferably, over Telegram.

I will then begin the art creation process. I create a sketch based on your form response, and discuss this with you. It is at the sketch stage that you should ask for changes or alterations! It is much more difficult to change a design after the sketch phase, and I will not majorly change a piece after the sketch phase. I will then line and colour the piece. Lineart changes MUST be made before the colouring stage - my pin lineart gets vectorised before colouring, and vectorised lineart cannot be changed.

Colours are not guaranteed to 100% match your reference. With enamel pins, I need to use the Pantone colour system. I use a physical formula guide to match the colours for your character. Colours may need to be altered slightly in order to have a Pantone equivalent.

Once the piece is finished, I will create a pin reference for the manufacturer.

When I have completed the artwork for everyone in the batch, I will send the designs to the manufacturer to be made into pins. At this stage, cancellations and refunds are not accepted. Once I have sent the designs to the manufacturer, I cannot cancel or change the order.

I will be sent a proof for each pin before manufacturing begins.

Turnaround time for the manufacturer, depending on the batch size and any holidays in the manufacturer’s country, is 1-3 months. Shipping from the manufacturer to me typically takes up to 2 weeks. Any updates I receive from the manufacturer will be relayed back to the commissioners.

It is at this stage that, if requested, I will work on getting backing cards designed and sent to the printer.

I can only give you photos that the manufacturer chooses to give me. Usually, this is only the finished product of all of the pins I’ve ordered. I cannot give any additional photos.

Once I have received the pins, I will go through them and check their quality. I separate the B-grades and keep them with me. You will receive every A-grade pin apart from one, which will go on my master collection/portfolio board.

The pins will then get boxed up and sent off to you! I do not back pins on cards before they are sent to you, to reduce turnaround time, reduce shipping costs, and to prevent damage from occuring in transit to the cards.

Please keep in mind that I am a fulltime fursuit maker and only work on enamel pins during weekends, evenings, and any set art days. Currently, I am using Mondays to work on pins as a set art day.

Payment Terms

All prices are given and all payments are made in GBP (Great British Pounds). Please convert these to your local currency!

I take payment via Stripe. You do not need to make an account: I will simply send you an invoice and you can pay by card.

Once sent an invoice or payment link, you must pay within 24 hours of the invoice arriving in your inbox, otherwise your slot will be discarded.

Currently I do not take payment plans, as my pricing mostly only covers manufacturing costs at this time.

25% of your commission cost is non-refundable after artwork has begun. This acts as a deposit to secure your commission slot and compensate me for the artwork and communication time in case of cancellation.

Refunds and Cancellation

Orders can be cancelled and refunds can be made only up until the point of manufacturing. Once I am ready for manufacturing, I am unable to cancel your commission and provide a refund.

If you cancel your commission before artwork begins, you will receive a full refund.

If you cancel your commission after artwork has begun, you will receive a 75% refund.

You cannot receive a refund while the pins are being manufactured, and you cannot receive a refund once you have your pins.

If I, the artist, cancel your commission for any reason at any point before manufacturing, you will receive a 100% refund.

Editing

Please make sure that you suggest edits as and when they need to happen!

During the sketch stage, you can suggest changes to the pose, expression, clothing, etc.

Please make sure everything is perfect with the posing, clothing and expression during the sketch stage as lineart cannot be *heavily* edited after it has been completed. Lineart cannot be changed during or after the colouring stage.

You can also ask for edits with the colouring. If you see any issues during the colouring stage, please let me know asap!

Usage

Once artwork is complete, you may use it however you’d like for personal use only - for example, as profile pictures, as Telegram/Discord stickers, free stickers, etc

You must not use the artwork for commercial use - for example, making stickers with the artwork to sell.

The only profit you are allowed to make from the artwork is from the pins themselves. It is allowed (and encouraged!) to sell the pins you commission from me.

I reserve the right to use the artwork on my website and social media pages.

General Pin Terms

I reserve the right to use photos of your pins on my website and social media pages.

Once your pins have arrived, I will keep one of the pins for my master collection.

As standard, I will separate B-grade pins from the A-grade ones while quality-checking. They will be kept with me and potentially used for mystery bags.

B-grade pins have small defects that come naturally with manufacturers filling pins in by hand. These may include:

  • Colour bleeding

  • Enamel under-filling

  • Enamel over-filling

Batches of pins will usually have a 10%-20% B-grade rate. Our manufacturer typically sends us a few extra pins to compensate for any B-grades we may receive.

C-grade pins are those that have major defects, like unfilled areas or incorrect colours. I’ve only ever found one of these so far in my experience with pin making so — they’re rare.

With explicit permission, I am able to make more and sell the pins of your character in my online store. I ask for this permission in the commission form. It is at no additional cost to you.

You are able to reorder designs of an existing pin. With reorders, you can only change the colours and plating, not the linework. Most enamel pin manufacturers will keep the enamel pin mould for around 2 years, so it would cost less than a whole new commission. This pricing is available upon request.

I am not able to recreate the style of another pin-maker or artist. Chaoticreations has its own unique chibi style for enamel pins. I also will not recreate another finished piece of artwork that somebody else has created.

ShippinG

  • I ship enamel pins domestically using Royal Mail Tracked shipping.

  • I ship enamel pins internationally using Royal Mail International Tracked shipping for shipments under 2kg, and I use other couriers (usually UPS) if over 2kg. Please note that international shipments may incur customs and import fees - I am not responsible for these.

Additional Information

Please note that I have the right to cancel your order based on the following:

  • You have been found to have a history homophobic, transphobic, racist, ableist, hateful, zoo/pedophilic or otherwise bigoted behaviour

  • You have a history of scamming or harassing other artists.

  • You are demonstrating rude, bigoted or harassing behaviour towards me or other commissioners.

In severe cases, you may be blacklisted (which means that you cannot order from me at all).

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about my TOS or the commission process!
